Dr Dave Seaward is a founding director of 3P innovation Ltd. 3P innovation develops new processes and high-quality automation systems for clinical and commercial manufacture of drug delivery devices. 3P is active in automation associated with inhalers, injector pens, modified release and aseptic filling.

Dave is a chartered engineer with a first degree in electrical and mechanical engineering and a control theory PhD. His 40 plus year career is associated with the development of custom automation for a variety of industries, including the pharmaceutical and medical device sectors.

Many of his projects have included advanced powder or liquid dispensing. He developed the way the pyramid teabag is filled with tea and is a named inventor on Unilever’s associated patent; as a result, he is mentioned in the UK Patent Office book “Inventing the 20th Century”. Dave is named inventor on over 20 other patents.
